Lowside Blues - Joanna MacGregor (Piano Tutorial)
Joanna MacGregor (b. 1959) first learn piano with her mother, then studied at Cambridge and the Royal Academy of Music. Constantly travelling and giving concerts, she is equally at home in classical, jazz, and contemporary music. and has become known for exploring the boundaries between music of all genres. The composer says that Lowside blues is 'to do with driving up Highway 61, through Louisiana and Mississippi', and that she 'wanted to write something that sounded slightly bumpy and explored the whole keyboard in a couple of pages'.
